![]() About Mrs. Brunner ![]() I've been teaching at Mission Elementary School since 1992. I taught first grade for 13 years and have taught second grade for three. Would you believe that I originally taught high school Spanish, French, and geography? That was before I moved to Oceanside. I grew up in northwestern Ohio and graduated from Miami University of Ohio, majoring in Spanish with a minor in French. I also got my teaching credential in secondary education. During my college years I was fortunate to be able to spend my junior year in Valencia, Spain, which helped me to become fluent in Spanish. My first teaching job was at Oberlin High School in Oberlin, Ohio, and, while teaching there, I was introduced to the man who became my husband. Ted was in the Marine Corps at the time, stationed in Twentynine Palms, CA, which became our first home. Our first child, Sara, was born there. We eventually ended in Oceanside and had two more children, Richard and Megan. I was able to stay home with them until Megan went to school full time. Besides teaching, I enjoy working on the computer, reading, scrapbooking, and travel. I also love animals--we have four cats (Mr. Chubbs, Will, Grace, and Elphie) and a basset hound named Arthur. We call them our "fur babies." Check this page for updates on our family and travels. Page last updated June 23, 2008 ![]() |
