| We participated in the Pumpkin Seed Count 2009
through
jenuinetech.com We had two pumpkins. First, we estimated how many
seeds each pumpkin had. Next, Mrs. Brunner cut the pumpkins open and
gave us seeds to count. We had to decide in our group how we were going
to count the seeds. Finally, we added up the number of seeds to figure
out how many were in each pumpkin. The taller, thinner pumpkin had 96
seeds, and the shorter, fatter pumpkin had 280 seeds. We only submitted
the seed count for the taller, thinner pumpkin since it weighed less
than 5 pounds, the limit for the online project. Andres and Moises
estimated the number of seeds closest to the actual amount and took the
pumpkins home, after Mrs. Brunner carved them. We also made pumpkins
based on a
pumpkin glyph from another teacher. |
